Welcome to the team. Whether you are new this year or a returning veteran of 10 years, there are some things we need to take care of as we start our season, beyond your Willy’s membership.
All swimmers will need to complete a swimmer information form. Even if you are a returning swimmer, I would like a new form so that we can keep them all together. They will be located at the front desk at Willy’s Gym
There are many expenses for the team which the Friends of Lower Cape Swimming (the association of parents that helps support the team) covers. These expenses include SEMSL Dues, USS Registration and ribbons among others Because of this FOLCS asks each for a donation for each swimmer. The suggested donation is $100 for the first child in your family, $50 for the second, $25 for your third, and any child after that is free.
Every team member is required to have a team bathing suit. We do require a new suit every year as they tend to start to break down after that. Team suits should only be worn for meets. Last years team suit can then become a practice suit. This years team suits are the black and red suits version of the TYR Northern Lights suit found here. (Girls / Boys). Feel free to shop around and find the best price, but it must be this suit.
Team caps will be required for all meets. They cost $4 for Latex caps and everyone will need to have at least 2 of them. We will look into ordering a set of silicone caps for those who prefer. We do not have a price for them at this moment.
Participating in USS meets is not required, but is strongly recommended and encouraged for at least all returning swimmers. If you are participating in USS Meets, we need to have a USS registration form completed and pay a USS registration fee of $65. In addition, newly registering USS swimmers will need to supply a copy of their Birth Certificate. Finally, all USS swimmers are required to establish a meet fee bank of $100. If you had a bank last year, you will only need to replenish your bank to $100, please ask for that amount
